Zach John King cancels weeks of concerts after devastating news

Budding country music sensation Zach John King has cancelled multiple upcoming shows as he faces a personal loss.
The 29-year-old music artist announced on Instagram this week that his father died suddenly.
Addressing his 190,000 followers on Tuesday, he wrote, ‘Friday my dad suddenly went home to Jesus,’ before noting, ‘I am cancelling the next two weeks of shows to grieve with my family.’
King was slated to appear at a series of fairs and festivals, including opening for Riley Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour and Luke Bryan’s Word On The Street Tour, per Holler.
After the hiatus, he promised, ‘Imma do what my dad would want me to do and get back to work.’
Memorializing his father elsewhere in the heartfelt message, he shared: ‘He was our family’s rock. My best friend. The greatest man I will ever know. John King was the kind of husband, father, grandfather, friend, and follower of Jesus you’ll only find once in a lifetime.’

The grieving son added about his dad, ‘Those that knew him knew his eyes were never fixed on this weary world. It used to frustrate me how joyful he could be even in the worst moment of life. In his own words, that joy came from ‘the hope I have in Jesus.’
‘In the literal blink of an eye Friday, he was home with Jesus where his soul longed to be,’ he stated.

‘We wanted 25 more years with him and that pain will cut deep for the rest of my life. However, if there were ever a moment to be sure my dad is waiting for me in the very place all of our souls long for, it would be now.’
King’s tribute included new and old pH๏τos of and with his father, who smiled gleefully in each one.
The performer also took to Instagram Stories to share another message with his fans after receiving a wave of support.
‘I am overwhelmed by [y’all’s] love and prayers for our family,’ he wrote in white font set against a black background.
King said he was also ‘overwhelmed by the beautiful stories of my dad I didn’t even know about.’
He ended the post, ‘God Bless y’all. Be back soon.’

Signing off in his initial post, King wrote, ‘I’ll leave y’all with what [my dad] said every morning even when I didn’t want to hear it… “today is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it”. I love you dad. I’ll see you soon.’
King will be kicking off his own tour, Get to Drinkin’, this fall, beginning with a sold out show in Indianapolis on October 1.
Other sold out stops include Columbus, Ohio, Toronto, New York City, and Boston.
The dates extend through the first week of November, finishing in Atlanta, Georgia on the 7th.
