Hollywood gets ANOTHER nepo baby as Robert Downey Jr’s child lands gig

Hollywood is preparing to welcome its latest nepo baby.

Robert Downey Jr’s 11-year-old daughter, Avri Roel Downey, is set to follow in her famous father’s footsteps.

The preteen has landed a role on a new television show tentatively тιтled Oswald, TMZ reported Tuesday.

According to her contract, she is set to pocket an impressive $1,246 for a single day of shooting in the role of a ‘Family PH๏τo Kid.’ 

Additionally, the contract features a conduct clause requiring all cast members to remain professional and avoid public scandals while filming. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to Downey Jr’s representatives for comment but has yet to hear back.

While Avri’s exact project remains under wraps, it appears to be the upcoming Disney series Oswald the Lucky Rabbit helmed by director Jon Favreau, who is a close friend of her father.

The duo have collaborated on a number of movies together, including the Iron Man Trilogy.  

There is a lot to live up to of course as her father is consistently ranked among the highest-earning actors and reportedly earned a total of $345.5 million playing Iron Man in the various Marvel movies. 

The Avengers actor is a proud father of three kids.

He shares daughter Avri and son Exton Elias, 14, with second wife Susan Downey, 52.

The two wed on August 27, 2005, nearly two years after getting engaged and an additional two years of dating. They have been together for more than two decades. 

Downey Jr also has a son Indio Falconer, 32, whom he welcomed during his first marriage to Deborah Falconer. 

Indio has dabbled in acting as well. In 2005, he played a younger version of his father’s character Harry Lockhart in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Avri is set to join the ever-growing club of nepo babies in Hollywood.

In 2022, Dakota Johnson, Maya Hawke, Zoe Kravitz and more stars with famous parents were infamously mocked on New York Magazine’s The Year of the Nepo Baby cover.

Vulture senior writer Nate Jones spoke with managers and casting directors in the industry, one of whom simply stated: ‘A lot of the children of famous people are not good.’

‘Someone once said to me, “We should hire so-and-so because their parents will come to the opening night,”‘ a veteran casting director recalled.

‘A big agency will write and say, “This is so-and-so’s kid,” and you understand that to mean “So you have to see this kid.” I have learned to simply say, “Not right for the role. But lovely.” There are a number of veiled responses rather than saying, “Are you guys kidding me?”‘

Like Laura Dern, Michael Douglas, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow – Dakota comes from a dynasty of famous actors – her mother is Oscar nominee Melanie Griffith, her father is Emmy nominee Don Johnson, and her grandmother is Golden Globe winner Tippi Hedren.

Meanwhile, before anyone saw her in Stranger Things, Maya – who’s the daughter of Uma Thurman – enlisted her famous father Ethan Hawke to appear in her audition tape for the role of Flower Girl in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and director Quentin Tarantino was impressed.

And while Zoe admitted in a GQ interview that she had a ‘deep insecurity’ about being the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, she also explained: ‘It’s completely normal for people to be in the family business.’
